MDO-E is a tool to design a Manufacturing and Quality Process Model where are integrated the three key elements: 1) Manufacturing Process Design in according to the Mfg Ontology 2) Quality Attributes and Measurements 3) Function Product Modelling

Future Quality Systems should be able to measure Functions and not only Components!

The Functional Domain is often neglected as a formal step

Mfg is the only point of integration between the concepts and the reality 

Future Mfg concept need to better integrate these two distinct process 

Companies have drawings to represent components, 3D model to represent products, 2D models to represent processes, databases and list to represent bill of material… but nothing to represent functions

Mfg is the only point in which the Customer Domain is brought into reality and satisfied (or dissatisfied) 

So far we measure things different to what we are selling to our customer 

MDO-E is point of integration of different Mgf and Quality elements

  • Definition of the Components involved in the Mfg Process 
  • Develop the Finish Good Functional Model
  • Definition the Quality Elements for Materials, Processes and Functions
  • Modelling the Manufacturing Process (Ontologically Defined): Operations, Processes, Resources, Workstation...
  • Integration into a unique Mfg schema all the above mentioned elements

    • Resources
    • Timing
  • Design the Mfg Quality Process: Measures and Test Coverage
  • Design the Mfg Process in according to the Ontology Model
  • Reverse Engineering of current assembly line
  • Appliance Functional Model and Quality integration
  • Predisposition for exportin the Mfg and Quality Model for implementing a relational DB linked to the real production data, equipment and measurements
